Is pet insurance broken? Does it need to be reinvented in some way?

Pet insurance used to be a “no-brainer” for owners who wanted to be able to afford veterinary fees. As veterinary bills have increased in size (largely due to the higher level of investigations and treatments that are now possible), it’s a real challenge to pet insurers to keep premiums at an affordable level.
